Syttende wins prestigious award in Falstaff Guide
Alsik Hotel & Spa and Restaurant Syttende—already awarded a Michelin star—firmly place Sønderborg on the gastronomic map in Falstaff Nordics’ new Restaurant & Bistro Guide 2026. In addition to strong ratings for both restaurants, Syttende received the distinguished recognition “Culinary Hideaway Denmark.”

Falstaff Nordics is a renowned gastronomic guide and media platform that reviews and highlights restaurants, hotels, and culinary experiences across the Nordics and the Baltic region.
At the launch of the guide on March 23 at Slagthuset in Malmö, Syttende was also honored with the award “Culinary Hideaway of the Year Denmark,” celebrating restaurants off the beaten track that deserve far greater attention.

In the guide, Alsik received 2 forks and 89 points (food 44/50, service 19/20, wine 18/20, style 8/10), while Restaurant Syttende achieved a top ranking with 4 forks and 96/100 points (food 47/50, service 19/20, wine 20/20, style 10/10). This places Syttende among the top 15 restaurants in Denmark.
Falstaff Nordics’ guide celebrates Nordic gastronomy for its creativity, diversity, and high standards—rooted in craftsmanship, local ingredients, and respect for the overall dining experience. With these new results, both Alsik and Syttende help shine a renewed national and international spotlight on Southern Jutland as a top-tier gastronomic destination.
