Levels 2 and 3 are reserved for guests who spend the night at Alsik

Guests who spend the night at Hotel Alsik have to contact the hotel’s reception for a discount. Levels 2 and 3 in the multi-storey car park are reserved for guests who spend the night. Guests can walk to the hotel from the multi-storey car park via the public pedestrian bridge over Nørre Havnegade. One of the three automated payment machines in the multi-storey car park is placed on this bridge.

New owners of the multi-storey car park

The first two hours of parking will still be free once APCOA Parking (Europe’s biggest parking management company) takes over the management of Havnens P-Hus on Nørre Havnegade in Sønderborg from Wednesday 22 January. This is part of the contract entered into between APCOA Parking and the new owner of the multi-storey car park, BMC Ejendomme A/S, a company under the foundation Bitten & Mads Clausens Fond.

BMC Ejendomme A/S bought the multi-storey car park from Sønderborg Municipality for DKK 55 million in 2019, after a public procurement process. The foundation purchased the multi-storey car park because it views it as an integral asset relating to its other properties in the Byens Havn waterfront district. The foundation’s aim is to make the multi-storey car park a safe and secure place to park for everyone at any time of the day or night. Accordingly, BMC Ejendomme has integrated CCTV surveillance into the building to create a secure environment for vehicles and pedestrians. A contract has also been entered into with APCOA’s security guards who will make the rounds in the facility round the clock.

Remember to set your parking dial

Up to now, it has been free to park round the clock in one of the 463 spaces distributed on the 12 half-decks of the multi-storey car park in Sønderborg Nordhavn. As early as upon acquiring the property, however, BMC Ejendomme stated that this arrangement would be replaced by an offer of two hours of free parking from the takeover in January 2020. Therefore, from 22 January, it will be important to set your parking dial as it will be used to register the time at which the parking began.

If you need to park in Havnens P-Hus for more than two hours, this costs DKK 12 per hour or any part thereof seven days a week. For instance, it is possible to pay for two hours of extra parking by using a smartphone payment app or one of the three automated payment machines set up for this purpose. It is possible to end your parking ahead of time. So, if you have paid for four hours (the two first of which are free), and you only need to park for three, it is easy to stop your parking and thus not pay for the fourth hour
